It is a really excellent look at family, parenting, what human beings are really like, and a totally entertaining movie. One of the best we've seen in a long time.

Leo and Angela Russo live a simple life in Queens, surrounded by their overbearing Italian-American family. When their son 'Sticks' finds success on his high-school basketball team, Leo tears the family apart trying to make it happen.

Romano said that much of the movie was shot in various neighborhoods throughout Queens. “The houses that we film in are all in Middle Village, where I moved to after I got married,” Romano said. “We drive by Dominick's Hotdogs [hot dog truck] on Woodhaven Boulevard.

The MPAA rating has been assigned for “language and some sexual material.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes an implied sex scene between teens, an interrupted sex scene, several kissing scenes, a scuffle between two men, a robbery, many arguments and insults, and nearly 40 F-words and other strong language.

Ray Romano's newest film is inspired by his own family — and the trailer's out now. The movie is loosely based on elements of Romano's own life.

Sticks is attending Queensborough Community College, has a new girlfriend, and is involved in the college spoken word poetry organization. In the last scene, he invites his parents to his first poetry recital, ending it with a quote from Rocky, for which Leo proudly gives him a standing ovation.

Scenes from the film are said to be inspired by the director's childhood experiences as the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola.

"Somewhere In Queens" has its poignant moments, as well as a well-spring of humor that is never overbearing. The acting throughout by the entire cast is superb. It's truly a pleasure to watch Romano and Metcalf together.

Romantic, heartfelt, and sweet. I originally watched because I knew Kris Wu was in the movie, but once I was actually watching, I was really into the story, and I absolutely loved it. It had my attention rather than just watching for an actor, and I will definitely watch it again, many times.
